Welcome
to the
Mount Vernon Youth Soccer Association
Mount Vernon, Washington

We try to keep this website updated and relevant throughout the entire year. This is your main source for information about our club.  Check back here often for information about soccer-related events for MVYSA as well as throughout the Skagit Valley. We will try to post information about coach clinics and referee training as well.

If you have soccer information to pass on, it can be sent to: webmaster@mvysa.org

2014 Registration is now open!

Online registration is open now.  You can register by clicking on the "Registration" link, located in the left column.

In addition to online registration, we will be offering several chances to come register in-person too.  Please see the "Events" page for dates/times details.

Referee Entry Level Clinic (ELC)

Skagit Valley Soccer Referees Assn. (SVSRA) will be hosting an Entry Level Clinic (ELC) for anyone interested in becoming a Referee. There are two parts to the clinic.  There is a classroom portion, which will be held on 17 May (9am to 5pm) and an online portion. The on-line portion MUST be completed no later than 8pm on 15 May.

Those wishing to take the clinic need to do two things.  The first is to register with SVSRA.  This can be done by visiting: http://www.skagitrefs.org/register   .  The next thing is to read the attached flyer and register with Washington State Referee Committee (details in the flyer) and complete all of the online training.

Don't delay.  Space in the clinic is limited.  Also, your seat in the clinic is not reserved until all of the online training has been completed.  If you register and wait too long to complete the online training, the clinic may be full and you will then have to take the classroom training at another date/location.

Please CLICK HERE to see the Wash. State Referee Comm. flyer.

About our season:

Our season begins with player registrations.  Regular registration typically begins in mid-April, and continues through June each year.  We do accept late registrations through August, if roster space permits (and subject to a late fee).  Please review our operating polices (see the "By-Laws & Policies" page) for details about this.

Team rosters are distributed to the coaches during early August.  You should be contacted by your assigned coach around the 15th of August.  The practice schedule and start date are determined by each individual coach.  Most coaches will have 2 practices per week.  Most practices will last 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours (this varies by age).

(If you are concerned about practice schedule conflicts, a great way to avoid this is to volunteer to be a coach!!  See the "contacts" page and contact the Coaching Coordinator).

The games are usually held on Saturdays.  We usually kick off the season with a MVYSA Jamboree on the Saturday before Labor Day.  The regular season will begin on the first Saturday after Labor Day.  For U-10 and younger, the season will usually end the last Saturday in October.  For U-11 and older, the season will usually end the following week with the Skagit Valley Youth Soccer Association championship tournament (usually the first weekend of November).

Equipment Exchange:  MVYSA will be holding an "equipment exchange" at the in-person registrations.  If you have used (but still serviceable) soccer shoes or shin guards that you no longer need, please donate them.  If you need equipment, come see if we have what you need.  There is no cost to receive gear and a donation is not a requirement.
