Mount Vernon Youth Soccer Association
Mount Vernon, Washington
We try to keep this website updated and relevant throughout the entire year. This is your main source for information about our club. Check back here often for information about soccer-related events for MVYSA as well as throughout the Skagit Valley. We will try to post information about coach clinics and referee training as well.
If you have soccer information to pass on, it can be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Board Members Needed!!
We are in desperate need of volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors and Coordinators. Many of the Board positions require little or no knowledge of the game of soccer. We rely on volunteers to help keep costs as low as possible. If you can spare some time, please consider volunteering.
We meet on the third Monday of each month (except December), at 7pm, at Round Table Pizza in Mt. Vernon. Please attend.
New Referee Clinic
If you are interested in becoming a soccer referee, Skagit Valley Soccer Referees Assn. (SVSRA) is hosting a New Referee Clinic to train and license new Referees. The clinic will be held on 30 May 2015, at the Burlington Senior Center.
Free training clinics
Northwest United FC (select soccer) will be hosting a series of free training clinics. These will be held on the first 3 Fridays in April (3rd, 10th, and 17th) at Whitmarsh Fields in Burlington (map available on the "fields" tab of this site). The clinics will run from 5-6:15pm. These clinics are oriented to players from ages 7 to 14.
Although there is no cost, pre-registration is requested.
Do you have kids participating in multiple sports?
There is a local web site dedicated to keeping you informed. The site, playskagit.com tries to keep current registration information for all youth sports within the Skagit Valley area. If you are interested in receiving notifications regarding local youth sports, just visit their site and register.
Our home fields
Maps to our home field (as well as many others in the area) can be found on the "fields" page.

About our season:
Our season begins with player registrations. Regular registration typically begins in mid-April, and continues through June each year. We do accept late registrations through August, if roster space permits (and subject to a late fee). Please review our operating polices (see the "By-Laws & Policies" page) for details about this.
Team rosters are distributed to the coaches during early August. You should be contacted by your assigned coach around the 15th of August. The practice schedule and start date are determined by each individual coach. Most coaches will have 2 practices per week. Most practices will last 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours (this varies by age).
The games are usually held on Saturdays. We usually kick off the season with a MVYSA Jamboree on the Saturday before Labor Day. The regular season will begin on the first Saturday after Labor Day. For U-10 and younger, the season will usually end the last Saturday in October. For U-11 and older, the season will usually end the following week with the Skagit Valley Youth Soccer Association championship tournament (usually the first weekend of November).
Equipment Exchange: MVYSA will be holding an "equipment exchange" at the in-person registrations. If you have used (but still serviceable) soccer shoes or shin guards that you no longer need, please donate them. If you need equipment, come see if we have what you need. There is no cost to receive gear and a donation is not a requirement.
